togo's #9

Although there are Subway sandwich shops all over Taipei but it just can't compare to togo's sandwiches. Here is something interesting, I did not know that they have changed their logo from all caps to all lowercase. I am wondering if this is the same tactic to show concern of healthiness as Kentucky Fried Chicken changed their name to KFC. Getting away from the word "Fried", even though the chicken is still cooked the same way.
My favorite is their #9, the pastrami sandwich. Just look at the photo, how can you not like it :0

New de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park

San Francisco de Young Museum damaged in 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake was closed in 2000 for complete re-build. Five years later, it re-opened on 10/15, 2005 with a brand new look. The new building was not without any controversial (see the review). The most destine feature of the building is that twisting 144 feet tall tower. Personally I like the observation deck at the top of the tower than their exhibits. Heavy fog blanketed SF on the day I was there so the view at the top was limited.

Daylight Saving Time

The idea of daylight saving time (DST) goes back as far as 1784 by Benjamin Franklin. Moving the clock forward one hour in the Spring and Summer months for better use of the longer sun light. Like everything else, there are people who are for the idea and people who are against the idea. Even today, many regions and countries routinely change their approaches to DST.
In 2005, a law was passed in the name of energy conservation to extend the DST by four weeks. Start three weeks earlier on the second Sunday in March and one week later on the first Sunday in November.
I used to love the extra hour of sun light when I was working. I can enjoy the outdoor activities long after my work day. When I am not home I am saving energy. And that is why DST equals "energy conservation". The only gripe I have with DST is to change all the time pieces in the house and the shortage of one hour sleep in the start of the period.
