Due to the dry and hot weather in the Summer months, California wildfire happens every year. So far there are more then 800 wildfires burning at the moment from small to thousands of acres in sizes. Bay Area is sandwiched between Mendocino and Humboldt counties from the north and Monterey country from the south. The air quality was especially bad today and expected to continue for few more days. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has a map showing all the fires happening in the state.

Eddy and Holly live in a small and cute house up by Fairfax in Marin county. Eddy is an avid mountain biker. He took us all over the trails around Mount Tamalpais for as long as I know him. Some of the trails were steep and fast that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. "Repack" was one of them. I can never forget the time we blazing down that entire trail near the edge of crashing the bike. Marin was the birth place of mountain biking. It is the holy land for us. Today we chose an easy path, we hiked the trails. Not that we are too old to tear up the trails like we used to, we just like a slower pace for this hot Saturday afternoon.

I have forgot what Summer is like in San Jose. For the past few years, It so happened that my visiting time has always been around Fall and Winter. I had got used to Taiwan's Summer, hot and humid. This is the first week since I came back, my skin started to flake from the dry warm air. It's lotion time !
