Still Here

(Taipei 101 #1)

(A little later #2)
If you were wondering what happened to my blog, well, I am back in Taipei. I was trying to get over the jet lag and living in the heat and humidity again for the past month. I have been hiding in my air conditioned living room as much as I can. Only go outside if it was absolutely necessary. But I wasn't idle neither. I did a complete backup of all my image files, processed many long awaited prints on my Epson 2200 printer. This 6-year old printer still made good prints.
OK, this photo was taken at a popular location in Taipei. I have seen other photographers taking the same shot, exact the same composition of this one. I wanted to do it differently by using multiple exposure technique but I kept getting time-out from the camera, indicating the multiple exposure was turned off before it was completed. I was almost certain this was a bug or defect and ready to send the camera in for warranty repair. Somehow a voice was telling me to check the manual before I do sent it in. Sure enough, this was a"feature" and not a "bug" for some unknown reason. The manual said, if there were no activities within 30 seconds between shots, the camera terminates the action and process the images already taken. There is a way to increase the time period. Problem solved.
So both of the photos here are made of two images combined in Photoshop, creating a multiple exposure effect. So, its kind of cheated in someways. I now know what went wrong the first time, I will go back to do it again in the correct way.
