(Grand Canyon, Miau Li, Taiwan)
Of course, this is in Taiwan.
0921, 1999 a massive earthquake shook the island of Taiwan. Death count at 2415. A Part of the Da-An riverbed raised over 10 meters, created a deep gap. After many years of the rain and flood, the water cut the gap wider and deeper which becomes the Grand Canyon we see today. Notice the size of the people at the upper left corner then you can tell the grand of this gap.
Even in digital age, the Sunny16 rule for proper exposure is still apply.
The shutter speed is the reciprocal of the ISO setting on your digital camera. If you are shooting at ISO 200, the shutter speed should adjusted to 1/200. This rule applies to daylight only, can't used with flash or studio lighting. Apply minor tweak if your camera does not have the exact setting according to the formula.
Snow or sand - F22
Sunny - F16
Slight overcast - F11
Overcast - F8
Heavy overcast - F5.6
Sunset or open shade - F4
Another tip on the shutter speed, this has to do with handhelding the camera. The minimum shutter speed without causing blury image is the reciprocal of the focal length of the lens. Say, if you are using a 200mm lens, the minimum shutter speed is 1/200.

(Apartment? Look again)
I would not have noticed this on the local TV news if it wasn't near where I live. Apparently people lived nearby had discovered that this apartment looking building is actually a power sub-station in disguise. Fake windows and balconies can fool you if you don't pay any attentions. I walked pass that building hundreds of times, never have I ever suspected. How would you feel if you lived next door and your bedroom is bombarded by the electric magnetic fields everyday??
I sometimes wondered what my upstair and downstair neigherbors were doing in their apartment ;)

(Windows?)

Taipei's brand new track and field stadium opened in July 2009, in time for the 2009 Summer Deaflympics. Its on the same location of the old Municipal Stadium demolished and rebuild in 2006. My high school soccer team played 2 seasons in the old stadium. The track is opened for public to use during early morning and late afternoon. I was there after dark to practice night photo technique. Because of the slow speed I used, it was interesting to see the runners were just a streak of blur in the picture. I also tried to follow and tracking the runner but can not get a sharp and steady image because of the movement of the runners.

Sunshine and clear day, wonderful !

(Smart car, engineered by Mercedes-Benz)
You can park this car just about anyways on the street.
Pink and black is not a bad combination.
(Also known as Cherry Blossom (Sakura))Well known flower, a hybrid species created in Japan. There is a temple in Dan Shuei city where you can find these flowers. It blooms in the Month of March, lasts for two weeks. The temple Tien Yuan Kung is a populr spot for the local photographers. The colorful pagoda provies a very nice blurry background for it. You will find many shots like this from various photographers.
