COVID-19 confirmed cases continue occurring. Number has more than doubled from one month ago. More than 100,000 people had died from the disease. No end in sight.
I got the hair clipper over a week ago but I was too chicken to do it, to cut my own hair. After agonized for few days then I saw this in the news. A hairdresser unknowingly infected 91 of her customers with Coronavirus. The pandemic is still on going although the confirmed cases has leveled off in Bay Area but it still too much a risk to go out for a hair cut. Even they are not officially allowed to open.
I took the clipper out and cut my hair for the first time in my life. The task was not too difficult but the result is not pretty. I hope the hat can cover it. I need to get a small and lighter trimmer for the edges and some detail works.
On to next project.
Another victim of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Specialty's bakery / restaurant is closing all their stores Tuesday. At my last job, Specialty's served my breakfast and lunch almost everyday. Their main business is food catering for cooperation. Due to the work-from-home, demand for catered food has gone down dramatically. Earlier another my favored restaurant, Sweet Tomato has also closed their restaurants. An all-you-can-eat self serve restaurant. Because of the nature of their business it will be hard for them to keep the food clean from contamination. I think after all this is over, there won't be any self serve buffet style restaurants left. The life style of what we used to will be changed forever.
We are in second extended period of shelter in place order. All counties except Santa Clara County in the Bay Area had moved on to second stage of opening of the restriction. I am not too concerned about what is close or open but can we open the barber shop now? My hair is at the longest length since I took up SCUBA diving, that is close to 30 years ago. I have got a pair of hair clipper the other day. I am going to try to cut my own hair tomorrow. Wish me luck.
BTW, I had my croissant fix at Peet's on Friday, Never tasted so good, warm and buttery.
My supply of coffee beans is getting low, time to shop. Headed out to the Peet's coffee near me this morning. To my surprise, there is a line at the door. Not in a straight format but was scattered in front of the store. When I got closer, see that the customers are blocked at the door, meaning you are not allowed enter the store. You get your order at the door and they will bring the coffee to you when its done. I looked at the line and decided I will come back at a later days. I wonder if they still carry any pastries? I really really miss their croissants.
