It happened 19 years ago today, US has experienced first time the war was in our backyard. I still remember clearly of that morning. Like my normal routine before I go to work was to turn the TV on to see the weather report and and breaking new. The picture I saw was the second plane hit the WTC. I had not registered in my head that it was real. Until I arrived at work, reality started to sink-in. Everyone in our building were in the cafeteria watching the TV. No one said a word but I can tell what people were thinking. For the rest of the day, some stayed and few went home.

History is for the generation after the event. Leaving the legacy of who they are.

The red sky is gone but the air quality of the Bay Area gets worst today. Sensors reading from Purple Air

Bad air continue covering whole Bay Area. I have noticed more and more people are wearing face masks in public. My guess that they are wearing because of the bad air and not for prevent the spread of the virus. I wonder if this has any correlation with recent reduction in confirmed COVID-19 cases. An unexpected side effect.

Wildfires are burning rampantly in three western states, Washington, Oregon and California. 7 o'clock this morning was still pitch black outside. The smoke from all the fire had blown south and covered whole Bay Area. It was so thick that actually blocked the sun. Some sun light came through by 9. The entire sly was in sepia color. The street light was on the whole day.

One thing that saved us was the smoke was high up above the fog layer which gave us rather clean air to breathe. We did not even smell the smoke. How long this will last is hard to say.
