Battle of the Donuts

Remember Krispy Kreme? Remember the long line? It should still somewhat fresh in our memory . Taiwan had a simular occurence when Mister Donuts opened their first store in TeinMo. Here is a little history of Mister Donuts which I did not know before. I thought Mister Donuts was founded in Japan. I was 50% right. Anyways, when they first opened two years ago, its common to see long line goes around the street blocks every day at all their locations. Two years later, you can go right up the counter and place your order without bumping into another person.
Dunkin's Donut, the brother of Mister Donuts came to Taiwan recently. It once again stiring up another donuts craz but nothing like the same megaitude as Mister Donuts.
I go visit my father on Sundays. He lives in DanShui, about 45 minutes ride on the MRT. DanShui is a popular place to go on weekends or holidays. The station at DanShui is the terminal station for the DanShui line. Its a little bigger then all other stations. Many shops and stores are in and around the station. I have not been there the past 2 weeks because of work. Today, I have noticed that a cafe and a candy store were been remodeled. Guess who are moving into those locations?

I am sure there will be enough customers for both stores, but do we really need two donuts shops within few feet away?

Comments:
Wow, fascinating! I always assumed that Mr-Do and Dunkin-Do went the way of the dodo (heh heh, sorry about that). Instead I find they upped and moved to Asia.
